AMON DÜÜL wurde 1967 in der Münchner Kommune-Szene gegründet und gab sich von Anfang an politisch engagiert. Die LP "Experimente" erschien 1969, "Psychedelic Underground" ebenfalls. "Paradieswärts Düül" wurde Ende 1970 eingespielt. AMON DÜÜL II spaltete sich bereits im Herbst 1968 von AMON DÜÜL ab, weil - wie man sagt - Chris Karrer Musik machen und sich nicht politisch betätigen wollte. Diese Gruppe ist Legende und der Inbegriff des Deutsch-Rock. "Hijack" ist ein Spätwerk von 1974, musikalisch wohl das beste, was die Gruppe je gemacht hat. "Lemmingmania" ist eine Zusammenstellung der Singles der Gruppe, erschienen 1971. "Nada Moonshine #" ist Chris Karrers Versuch von 1995, die Band wiederzubeleben - musikalisch gelungen, aber vielleicht zu anspruchsvoll. Aus diesem Versuch resultierte auch der Auftritt im April 1996 in Tokio, festgehalten auf "Live In Tokyo". |
All the AMON DUUL and AMON DUUL II CDs listed here were deleted by the manufacturers because of new licensing contracts. So all of these are only being offered as long as stocks last. AMON DUUL was founded in the Munich commune scene in 1967. They were notorious for their sometimes rather radical political views. The original album release of "Experimente" dates back to 1969, as does "Psychedelic Underground". "Paradieswarts Duul" was recorded in late 1970. AMON DUUL II broke away from AMON DUUL in the fall of 1968 because - as legend has it - Chris Karrer was only interested in music, not in politics. This group is legend, and they represent the quintessential German rock. "Hijack" was recorded in 1974, and many regard this album as their best ever. "Lemmingmania" is a collection of the group's 45s released on an album in 1971. "Nada Moonshine #" is Chris Karrer's attempt from 1995 to resurrect the group. Hans-Joachim Roedelius ist Pionier der neuen deutschen elektronischen Musik. 1967 kam er aus Ost-Berlin in den Westen, um in der sich entwickelnden Underground-Szene musikalisch zu betätigen. Sich an zahllosen Projekten beteiligend feierte er erste Erfolge 1969 mit der Gruppe CLUSTER. Über die Jahre entstand neben seinen Beteiligungen an anderen Gruppen eine große Zahl eigener Alben. Egal welche Musikrichtung man im Deutsch-Rock schätzt, Roedelius hat sie alle gemacht: leichter Jazz und Klassik, Electronic-Ambient, Psychedelic Rock bis hin zu avantgardistischen Verrücktheiten. |
Hans-Joachim Roedelius is a pioneer of new German electronic music - the pioneer. In 1967 he came from East Berlin and became immediately involved in numerous projects in the prospering Berlin underground music scene. Helping out on a vast number of projects, first commercial success came in 1969 with CLUSTER. He kept on co-operating with other musicians and participating whenever he could. But over the years a huge number of albums of his own were released. Regardless of what kind of krautrock music you prefer, Roedelius has done them all: light jazz and classical, electronic ambient, psychedelic rock right over to pure avant-garde weirdness. |

ULI TREPTE was the bassist of the legendary original line-up of GURU GURU. It is this line-up that play the first 2 songs (over 46 minutes) on "GURU GURU & ULI TREPTE" (and they play further 2 tracks on "THE BEST OF AX GENRICH" - ATM 3822-AH). The other tracks on that album were recorded with an impressive cast of well-known krautrockers in 1974. The tracks on "REAL TIME MUSIC" were recorded in 1990/91. Having left his mark on groups like IRENE SCHWEIZER TRIO, GURU GURU, NEU, FAUST, and SPACEBOX between 1966 and 1984, Uli had influenced all kinds of progressive rock considerably.
